Summary: Examines the experience of 19 countries that entered Enhanced Structural Adjustment Facility arrangements as of mid-1992, in order to determine the degree to which the objectives in three areas viz. economic growth, balance of payments and structural policies, were reached. Takes stock of accomplishments under Structural Adjustment Facility and Enhanced Structural Adjustment Facility supported programs and identifies areas where success or arrangements will need stronger efforts.
