Raises some legal considerations to be borne in mind when designing legislation for sustainable development from the perspective of environmental management. Canvases the issue of implementing the Convention on Biological Diversity with reference to small island states of the Commonwealth Caribbean, particularly Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, which have enacted legislation to deal with environmental management.
