Summary: The first paper summarizes the main findings of a study on TNCs and structural changes in the Brazilian manufacturing sector. Aims to contribute to an understanding of transnational corporations in the modernization of the Brazilian manufacturing sector. The second paper presents an analysis of the behaviour of large national enterprises and transnational corporations in the adjustment process under way among firms in the Brazilian manufacturing sector.
