First lecture discusses the regional movement in the aftermath of the Grenada crisis. Focuses on the challenges facing the movement in the areas of the common market, cultural identity, and internal and external viability. Second lecture discusses the history of the West Indian federation, lessons from CARIFTA, the international situation and proposes various regional political options based on politics of reality and pragmatism. Final lecture proposes West Indian union and Caribbean economic integration as viable means of consolidating Caribbean independence in the economic, cultural, psychological, and intellectual areas.
