Why do some countries get better WTO accession terms than others? - 2011

Examines what determines the concessions the WTO requires of an entrant. Concludes that the richest countries have the greatest bargainng expertise, and thus obtain better terms; while the middle-income countries end up with the most stringent terms, and have to make the greatest relative adjustments relative to their trade regimes.
