The implications of the North American Free Trade Agreement for the CARICOM members of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee (CDCC) are reviewed in the light of attempts to deepen their integration movement and to agree upon common External Tariff (CET) levels. Their commitments to other trade and investment arrangements under the Lome convention and CARIBCAN and taken into account. Possible CDCC responses to NAFTA are discussed and the interests of non-CARICOM members of CDCC are considered.
