Summary: Identifies two principles on which the search for monetary integration is based, viz. (1) that monetary integration would complement Caribbean integration in other areas by fostering a commonality of exchange rate and monetary policies, and (2) that monetary integration engenders stability in the exchange rate itself, not only among Caribbean currencies but vis a vis the rest of the world.
