Summary: Reports on a study which examined one of the criticisms made in the 1970s of the media in the English-speaking Caribbean, that even when given the opportunity to do so, they did not report on the region's advances, or development. Suggests new ways to define 'development news', and indicates that given human and financial resources and time, Caribbean countries will actively report their development events to the rest of the world.
