Summary: Discusses what happens to existing contracts, expressed either in the currency of a participating Member State or in ECU, once the Community enters into the third stage of economic and monetary union. Shows that some aspects of the problem have already been dealth with directly by the EC Treaty itself and that for the rest, the continuity of contracts is, in principle, assured by the conditions under which the third stage of the economic and monetary union will be introduced.
