Considers various aspects of econoic vulnerability and how these might be measured. Focuses on the variables employed in the study, then derives an aggregated index of vulnerability from these variables, using two alternative methodologies for applying weights. Outlines the results of the analysis, in terms of the entire world sample as well as for the Eastern Caribbean as a separate group. Draws conclusions on the relationship beetween economic vulnerability and inherent country characteristics, and the implications this has for policy formulation.
