Analyzes one of the clearest and most effective ways of reducing poverty viz. trade liberalization - especially agriculture trade - by the industrialized countries. Deals with agricultural subsidies in the industrialized countries and several agricultural products which are severely affected by the protectionism imposed by these countries. Presents estimates as to the impact that the eradication of the main protectionist measures in agriculture would have on the reduction of global poverty.
