Summary: Suggest that while the traditional approach to debt management focuses on expenditure compression and tax increases, some level of debt restructuring, additional challeges such as narrow economic base due to reliance on a few major products, reduced competitiveness as reflected in persistent current account deficits, fiscal deficits and the low technology content of exports, must be overcome if the economies are to be put on a sustained growth path.
