Global trade prospects for the developing countries.

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: 1992Action note:
  • 3/7/00 M2LMGR
Summary: Notes that developing countries experienced a decline in their share of world trade in the 1950s and 1960s, and this was reversed by the 1970s as some developing countries began to emerge as exporters of manufactured goods. However, if the Uruguay Round turns out not to amount to much and if regional trading blocs become the centre of focus, developing countries may be adversely affected because of the trade diversion and increased trade frictions which may result.
