Claims that the aims of 1992 will not be achieved at the expense of third countries, since the rise in the general standard of living in the Community will necessarily mean increased demand for consumer goods, and rising production within the Community will mean increased demand for raw materials. Suggests the use of Lome Convention to help Caribbean countries get the necessary presence in the Single Market to strengthen their economic and social sectors.
