Summary: Postulates that developing countries, particularly small states, such as those in the Caribbean, can benefit from taking a proactive approach to foreign investment. This approach gives the host country more control over the foreign investment process and provides the framework for seeking out investment that is felt to be particularly desirable, given the unique characteristics of a particular country. Applies this approach to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
