Summary: Discusses the availability of adult education provisions for adults outside the mainstream of the formal education system. Shows how attention to the training of adult educators might facilitate the expansion of learning opportunities for adults and heighten the quality of those opportunities. Argues for a widening of access to higher education through acceptance of prior learning experience as an alternative to paper qualification for matriculation purposes.
