Discusses changes in the world of work that must be addressed by adult education to ensure the genuine implementation of lifelong learning, lifelong career development and lifelong employment. Looks at how adult education can cooperate with the world of employment and economic production to ensure the relevance and employability of human resources. Examines how adult education can support the development of democracy in the workplace through the collectivisation of employees, the appropriate role of unions, and the development of participatory management. Identifies five principal entities, viz: (1) the learner; (2) the teaching/training provider; (3) the employer; (4) the unions; and, (5) the government.
