Summary: This guidance note draws upon experiences and practices for addressing HIV/AIDS and human development issues based on a review of over 20 National Human Development Reports (NHDRs). It also explores the linkages between HIV/AIDS and human development, and offers a theoretical background and practical guidance to assist NHDR Teams and UNDP Country Offices in the challenge of addressing HIV/AIDS within the framework of the human development conceptual approach.
