Indicates that CARTIS and its network of organisations have tried to address the region's trade information needs by means of measures such as the development of electronic databases; establishment and development of a network of trade promotion for the exchange of information; enquiry/reply service; trade opportunities bulletin; establishment of a regional Documentation Centre; on-line access to selected international databases; collection of and payment for trade statistics at the product level; collection and analysis of data for eventual development of a regional database of trade control measures; and establishment of standards for the exchange of data.
