Explores the issue of multinational enterprise (MNE) activity within a regionally integrated area viz. CARICOM. Applies the theory on MNEs and regional integration to the case of CARICOM integration to demonstrate that MNEs operating in the Caribbean responded differently to CARICOM than predicted by the theory. Presents the theory through a review of the literature on EC Mark I. Presents various hypotheses in an attempt to put forth possible explanations of MNE activity in the region.
