  <abstract>Outlines present Europe/Caribbean relations which are overwhelmingly bilateral and mostly reflect historical ties, and notes that there is good reason to expect this pattern to continue in the near future.  The Lom Conventions have all attempted to facilitate closer links within CARICOM states as well as between the Caribbean ACP, the French DOM and the British and Dutch OCT.</abstract>
