N2  - Describes the five stages of cultural domination by re-exportation as: (1) the Caribbean develops a pattern of emphasis for elements in its culture; (2) the pattern is exported to an exogenous society; (3) the exogenous society modifies the pattern to make it consistent with its own culture; (4) the Caribbean imports the modified pattern of emphasis; and, (5) the Caribbean adopts the modifications.  The idea of cultural domination describes the relationship between the Caribbean and the USA, since the flow of influence is significantly greater from the United States to the Caribbean than it is in the opposite direction.  Analyses two instances of cultural domination by re-exportation, viz. calypso and reggae, and the role of communication in this relationship
