Focuses on various aspects of inflation targeting which is a framework for monetary policy that commits the central bank to achieving low inflation. Notes that inflation targeting has enjoyed considerable success among industrial countries and it offers a number of operational advantages for developing countries. Concludes that it compels policy-makers t to deepen reforms, enhance transparencey, and improve the fiscal stance; it also holds out the promise of eventual convergence to international levels of inflation.
