HAREWOOD, T. Ainsworth

Towards a CARICOM montary union. - 1993

Notes that the search for monetary integration is based on two main principles, viz. (1) that monetary integration would complement Caribbean integration in other areas by fostering a commonality of exchange rate and monetary policies; and, (2) that monetary integration engenders stability in the exchange rate itself, not only among Caribbean currencies but also vis a vis the rest of the world. Outlines eight significant implications of monetary union in the Caribbean.
