THOMAS, Christopher
NAFTA and the Side Agreement on Environmental Cooperation.
- 1993
Examines NAFTA and the subsequent North American Agreement on Environmental Co-operation, and assesses how they interact. Discusses how they have gone beyond the GATT, and the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement, in the recognition of environmental issues. Concludes that the Side Agreement complements the trade-related environmental provisions in the NAFTA by adressing environmental law issues which may have an effect on international trade and investment.
