Traces the political philosophies of John Compton from the time he entered the political arena. Discusses the implication of these philosophies for domestic, regional and international issues. Concludes that Compton's weak international policy overpowered a seemingly stronger and more focused regional policy, while little information is available on his internal management of the country.
