  <abstract>Advises Caricom members that, in their quest for Cuba's economic participation, they must first recognise that a deep-rooted, emotionally charged polarisation exists between the US and Cuba.  Suggests that a useful undertaking by CARICOM leadership might be diplomatic initiatives to bridge the polarisation between the two countries.</abstract>
