Focuses on the financial side of HIV/AIDS. Examines how much and what proportion of overall health expenditures by government, donors and patients go towards the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Suggests a way to decrease the financial burden of HIV on the rural poor infected with the virus, through community-based health insurance such as prepayment schemes.
