  <abstract>Examines the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) with the aim of determining its pros and cons for developing countries in so far as their development needs are concerned.  Concludes that, to a large extent TRIPS is largely detrimental to developing countries, and should be amended.</abstract>
