520 _aShows that results from bacterial pollution monitoring in Castries Harbour over the period 1982-1984, indicated that the levels of total Coliform, faecal coliform and faecal streptococci exceeded selected international standards recommended for these indicators as indicies of the recreational suitability of bathing waters. Recommends that the harbour be considered unsuitable for the moderate degree of recreational activity it currently supports. States that the socio-economic and related activities including municipal and other waste discharges which occur in the Castries Harbour are prevalent in most Eastern Caribbean city harbours and hence the findings and implications here presented could be of regional significance.
