This must be the Europe of the European Economic Area (EEA) which includes the EEC and the EFTA countries. Suggests that in the new century, the so-called Caribbean could be enlarged to include the British, the Dutch, the French and US territories. Posits that the message we want to send includes - the priority of developing our competitiveness within the context of the global trade liberalization and the development of economic blocs - that beside our traditional partners in the EEC we look to other countries within the new European Economic area for partnership - that we must seek to improve our competitiveness and our standing in the global economy - that every avenue for Caribbean cooperation and development must be exploited - and that the Caribbean has been strengthened in its resolve to deepen the integration process.
