Outlines methodology for dealing with the human element in effecting corporate change. Discusses challenges which organizations must address in order to effect significant change. Presents the Seven S Framework, a model comprising 7 tools viz. strategy, structure, systems, style, staffing, skills and shared values, for guiding the change process. Looks at the role of Human Resources staff in effecting change; and identifies education, communication and rewards as tools for realizing change at management levels. Examines issues involved in creating and sustaining organizational learning including: background to and characteristics of learning organizations; leadership development; and the role of education. Presents other models including the workforce blueprint model (p. 14); the organizational competency model (p. 15) and the breakthrough model (p.42).
